Little MacDonald is a sustainable playset inspired by farm and farm animals. The playset aims to teach kids empathy, sustainability, and love and care towards nature.

MIDJOURNEY IDEATION

Combined the works of Oskar Schlemmer and Jamini Roy as figurines of farm animals to establish the visual direction for the project. What followed was a rough sketch session where the form and build of the chosen ones were established.

Used the AI-ideation to note down repetitive patterns, shape, form and colors. This informed my decisions while sketching how the toys would look like. And that is how Inky, Pinky, and Ponky were born!

VECTOR CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

Before moving into 3D modeling, I developed vector studies in Illustrator to refine proportions, silhouette, color, and surface pattern placement. These 2D explorations helped establish the visual language and guide later CAD development.

3D PRODUCT VISUALIZATION

The selected toys were developed as 3D models and placed within a stylized barnyard environment to explore scale, visual hierarchy, and how the characters might exist within the whole play system.

DAIRY KIT PLAYSET

Acts as an extension to the toys above. The dairy kit playset includes a cheese wheel, three milk bottles, a block of butter, and three eggs with egg containers. Furthermore, kids can match and sort the eggs into their containers based on the color of the wood.

MUSHROOM FARM PLAYSET

An extension of the Little MacDonald play world, the Mushroom Farm introduces a simple size-matching and sorting activity. Each mushroom has a different stem diameter, encouraging children to identify the corresponding opening and place it correctly.

The interaction supports visual discrimination, fine-motor coordination, spatial reasoning, and early problem-solving.

VEGGIE KIT PLAYSET

Acts more as an extension to the existing the farm playset into open-ended roleplay, encouraging children to create everyday scenarios around growing, harvesting, cooking, and sharing food. The simplified vegetable forms support object recognition, sorting, storytelling, and fine-motor interaction while expanding the play world beyond the animal figures.
